These pieces started as studies for a commission that did get picked. I loved them so much and wanted a special home for them so I decided to share them through Art Drop. Each artwork showcases a meaningful pose that best symbolises what we go through in life. I also tried out a more polished look here along with a few new techniques. I hope you find inspiration in them!

Climbing mountains

The one hand side plank or Vasisthasana, when directly translated, means the most excellent, best, richest pose. Savor the times when you feel your best self, when abundance is within reach, when things have settled perfectly into place. Take the joy from these highs and bring it with you on your lows. Such will be the pattern of life; we must fuel spirits to continue the climb to the top of every beautiful peak.

Victorious Journeys

Skandansan or the Side Lunge is also known as the pose of a War God ready for battle. We spend so much of our time preparing for life’s battles that we lose sight of the battle we start within ourselves. Self-doubt can be as weakening as wounds and self deprecation, as permanent as scars. But as they say, life is not a battle to win but a journey to enjoy. You can never lose a battle that never existed to begin with.

A Full Expression

The Pigeon Pose or kapotasana is one of the most beautifully complex poses in Asana that can be expressed in many forms, accommodating yogis of every level. Challenges can hinder us from telling our own truths and finding our own selves. But when we put the work into it and faith onto ourselves, we learn to overcome our weaknesses and fully express ourselves in our best form at this very moment, no matter how far we may be from our goal, wherever in life we may be.
